September 2010 eNews
Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 2:15PM There is a little unspoken, yet clearly understood truth in church world-at least around Forest Hill. Seasons are beautiful. It goes like this: Winter is all about Christmas. Spring has easter. Summer is downtime (though not this summer) and Fall is how-do-we-keep-programs-from-stacking-up-like-a-tall-stack-of-pancakes-at-IHOP? Shortened version...fall is busy. This fall is not as bad as season's past. It is more like having an opportunity to present some huge things we have been working on as a church. Here are a few of them slated to be revealed this next month or so:
1. September 29 from 6-9pm will be New Leader Training. That is a Wednesday night. We will also host trainings for Care, Growth, and Impact that evening from 6-8pm. We will spend the first 30 minutes together and then breakout to our separate trainings. If your champions haven't been trained yet, encourage them to attend. Also, if you have wrestled with improving connection in your group (Care), fostering healthy discussion during your study times (Growth), or connecting your group with an inner city partner with whom you can serve effectively (Impact), this training is open to you as well. 2. We are hosting All Leader Training on October 20 from 6-9pm. Over the past months, we have launched a new website, developed a curriculum plan for LifeGroups, and invested in a personalized Discipleship plan that can double as a discipleship curriculum in your LifeGroups. This tool is called Monvee and will be revealed for the first time to Forest Hill leadership at this training on the 20th along with the other improvements we have made to Discipleship at Forest Hill. You will have an opportunity to walk away with this curriculum as well. We are very excited about this and are confident you will find it equally as exciting. Email ellen.calos@foresthill.org for more information or Click Here to register
3. Two new global mission trips have been published and are currently recruiting for participants. If you have not considered going international with your LifeGroup, you should. It is incredibly powerful! Trips to the Dominican Republic and Senegal have opened up for February 2011. Deposits and applications should be turned in soon if you are interested. More information for these trips and other Global Missions at Forest Hill is available here.
