The South Park, Ballantyne and Rock Hill local outreach teams encourage anyone who is interested in learning more about building relationships with people in poverty to join them on 10/3 and 10/10 in the Charis Room for Bridges Out of Poverty training.
Through Bridges Out of Poverty training you will gain an understanding of the “hidden rules” of poverty, middle class, and wealth – and the assumptions people in middle class bring to the table as they encounter and interact with people in poverty. You will discover how grief and trauma keep many people locked in the poverty cycle. Outreach teams will provide you with information on how to connect with Forest Hill’s community partners and give you practical yet compassionate strategies for engagement that can positively impact the lives of people in poverty.
Bridges Out of Poverty is a two part series open to all three campuses.
